Angeligue C. Mizera, D.O. Director of Physical Medicine
Angelique C. Mizera D.O. is a board certified physician in the area of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Physical Medicine is a specialty that evaluates, diagnoses, and treats people with pain and limited function due to disease, injury, or disability. Dr. Mizera's professional focus is to assist people who have neuro-musculo-skeletal problems and injuries to achieve optimal health and function. Being very sensitive to the need for a team approach toward healing, she promotes collaboration of the multidisciplinary team as needed to individualize each patient's program. She chose to be an osteopathic physician because of the profession's holistic philosophy which considers the entire person - body, mind, and spirit - when evaluating disease and its impact. The human body has the innate capacity to heal itself. Structure and function are directly related, and optimizing this relationship is important for the healing process. Osteopathic manipulation is a hands-on approach toward maximizing health by releasing restricted areas (somatic dysfunction) in the body that may be inhibiting the body's ability to heal itself. Dr. Mizera compassionately works with patients to foster motivation and inspiration. Her goal is to empower the individual toward his/her own new possibilities for a healthy active life. Many emotional issues manifest as physical complaints that can be managed by osteopathic manipulation. With this awareness, she assists patients in transforming physical and emotional challenges to realize their full potential for functioning in their world.
